History

Intent

History is the study of the past and how it has changed over time, specifically the people, societies, events and problems of the past as well as our attempts to understand them. Our History curriculum encompasses the five key threads of our curriculum intent in the following ways:

Enrichment

In term one, Froghoppers and Dragonflies had a very exciting visit from the people at 'Hands on History', who came to talk to the children about life in Roman time.

The children started the day by creating a timeline to see exactly when the Roman period was. They learnt to fight like a Roman and identified and discussed lots of different artefacts from this period.

History Club

In Term 3 History Club launched, led by members of the local Ninfield History Society. This is one way that we have been reaching out to connect with our village community, giving the children opportunity to work with members of their local area and to explore the rich history of the village.
